Description :
Literary criticism asks what literature is, what it does, what is worth. Literary criticism is the act of interpreting literature. Authors present us with work that can have multiple meanings, expecting us to consider thoughtfully, to interpret. Writers and critics build on each other’s understanding of a work of literature in kind of dialog. It also encourages us to make the theoretical issues relevant to us.
Objectives
1. Students are able to think actively and critically using various literary approaches.
2. To give students practice in reading and writing about a variety of literary genres, in particular fiction, poetry, and drama.
3. To engage students in the extended conversation of critical discourse.
4. Students are able to produce literary criticism essay based on a certain approach.
